King Kurt are the notorious British Psychobilly band whose music has only been marginally eclipsed by their on-stage antics, in particular a penchant for food fights, one of the many instances of encouragement of audience participation. This is the story of the group who have declined concert admittance to any man not wearing a skirt, performed on-stage haircuts, and at Easter performed in Roman attire with a loin-clothed man in the background strapped to a cross. Afraid to court controversy they aren't, as albums like 'Big Cock' and 'Last Will and Testicle' clearly prove. And at the heart of it all, their early invention – Zulu-Beat.
