For the past year, Thomas Fleming, the director of the BAU, has been taunted by The Blooming Butcher. The serial killer has sent him texts and pictures nearly constantly, keeping him apprised of his movements, but always staying two steps ahead. With the help of his team, Thomas has tried everything to solve the mystery of who he is before he takes the life of yet another innocent woman. However, when Thomas receives a message from the killer with a picture of his estranged wife, Thomas knows time is running out to catch the person tormenting him. He needs to try and get ahead of The Butcher, or he'll end up losing his wife forever. Carla Fleming still loved her husband, but this past year she grew tired of always coming in second to his job.
