Your invitation to the Furry Friends' Veterinary Christmas Party is here — come share the magic and memories of the Christmas season with Devondale's unlikely veterinary duo!
Christmas is on its way, and Mac is enlisted by his old friends the bellringers to substitute for the special Christmas service's bells. Led by the curmudgeonly Calvin, the unlikely pack of strikers is forced to work as hard as if a striker's competition is coming up, and Mac feels the pressure to be on time for practices despite a busy surgery.
In addition to ringing in goodwill towards men on Christmas Day, Mac finds himself pulled into the planning for a Christmas party after Jo learns about the practice's former Christmas open house, which hasn't taken place since Issa's time at the clinic. With trees to decorate and menus to plan, Mac reluctantly helps with the process, as it brings bittersweet memories to him.
But there's work to be done, and a run-in with Gordon Clancy's roughneck ranch hands leads Mac to facilitate a stray kitten's rescue with the help of George. And his latest patient, the beloved and rare male Calico, belongs to a homebound client who will be spending Christmas on crutches, thanks to an unfortunate accident, who is now adding the woes of a pet parent to her list of worries.
As beautiful Louie's condition fails to improve, Jo takes the cat's case under her personal care, determined to do everything in her power to pull him through against the odds. As Jo struggles to keep hope alive, Mac sees a new side of his partner, underneath the cheery optimistic personality he knows best.
Sometimes miracles come in the most unlikely of packages — will this season bring one for Mac, Jo, and all the friends of the Devondale clinic who need a little Christmas hope?
