By attacking Ukraine, Russia is essentially assaulting Christianity and capitalism—forces it fiercely resists. Ukraine's swift rise from a disenfranchised colony to a fully integrated member of both paradigms exposes Russia's fragile self-image and triggers its panic over failing to achieve similar progress, propose a viable alternative, or honestly break free from their influence. In rejecting capitalism, Russia retreats to serfdom; in denying Christianity, it succumbs to primitive occultism. This war is a desperate attempt to delay an inevitable and deeply shameful reckoning.
