Daglyr is the pilot novel of an exciting new Universe series that begins in another dimension and follows the adventures of a chaotic and twisted alien as he faces the struggles of existence throughout time and space Captain Widhbo (pronounced 'wee bow') of the Royal Borrugal Brigade was known for his success in battle against all odds. Infamous for his unorthodox methods, he invited the boldest soldiers to train at his side, many too headstrong for other companies. His current mission is to gain control of the daglyr problem, brutish beasts caught raiding vital supply lines on the isolated planet of Corrudi. Widhbo encounters deception and discovers a dark conspiracy threatening the entire Borrugal Coalition. Striving to overcome formidable foes, his own superiors thwart him, and Widhbo must compromise a winning strategy. He devises bold plans to avoid failure and a grim fate. He risks his life and abandons everything he once cherished to make a final attempt for freedom. Captain Widhbo was the last surviving member of the ancient house of Widhbo from the vielyr tribe. Before their collapse, the House of Widbho figured prominently among them. It had gone down in a savage battle, defeated by vielgards. The young Widhbo survived by accident of being away on a sporting expedition when his family was attacked by a marauding band of these rogue vielyrs. Refusing to accept humiliation or defeat, Widhbo joined the Brigade to redeem the family name and restore honor to his lineage, or perhaps for revenge. His triumphs in battle were often at the expense of protocol. He was systematically bypassed for promotion supposedly due to his infamous methods and habitual dodging of rules. His superiors reaped the rewards of his victories while dissing Widhbo in the public arena. Most were happy to employ him for distasteful and dangerous missions, knowing he would always get the job done. Widhbo was relentless in his quest for promotion but was beginning to suspect he was too useful in his current position. As captain he had no real authority and was a ready scapegoat for the higher officers or political class. His current mission was the most thankless one to date. He was to eradicate some primitive beasts on a remote planet who were raiding supply wagons, thereby interrupting a secret supply line of lithium ore needed by The Coalition to power their ships and weaponry. A secret mission meant no public credit, no glory. His current assignment was on a remote planet and strictly classified. He pointed this out to his superior officers, "Whether I succeed or fail, no matter. A secret mission will not affect my reputation. I may as well be on vacation." It was the beginning of the end.
