In this collection of short stories William Thirsk-Gaskill experiments with conflicted characters and with many diverse points of view. He uses a pared down contemporary style in which each story is articulated using as few words as possible. These stories give a sideways view of an outwardly everyday setting. The collection includes a ghost story, an unserious dystopia, a tale from the point of view of a kitchen knife, and three disparate cases of cyber-deception.
This collection includes "How to be an Alcoholic", selected by Salt Publishing for their Best British Short Stories 2018.
Something I Need to Tell You follows the innovative Throwing Mother in the Skip which explores the conflict between the practical and emotional.
