Happiness is a social construct. This means that it is not given, but can be accessed by any of us if we just take the time and make the effort, if we adopt the right philosophy and behaviour. We can teach ourselves to lead happy lives: there are a few tricks to learn and there is some work to put in, but happiness can be easily achieved.
