South Korea as a country has given me everything. It's the place where I got to know the love of my life, and what I believe will have been the five years that have changed my life forever. In the vein of Abroad in Japan, Alice Amelia weaves together a multitude of stories, showing us the wider narrative of expat life while shining a light on the previously closed off society of South Korea. She also lifts the curtain of the brutal and competitive Korean entertainment industry and gives us a behind the scenes look on what it takes to succeed in such a high-pressure environment, and just how dangerous it can be to fail. Having been obsessed with K-dramas since she was a teenager, after she graduated from university Alice took a major leap and decided to move to South Korea to study at a language school.
